H. MOLINS (1893-1958) — Lady with Fan

$90,000.00

“Lady with Fan” by Molins, is the perfect example of the artist interest and finesse. As many other artists such as Bouraine, Philippe and Kelety used the ostrich feather fan as a sensual symbol on their “Fan Dancer” pieces, Molins used this object as an accessory to enhance the natural beauty of the Mademoiselle and her gown transforming his muse into this exotic bird that can only be compared to a Royal Peacock. His hand carving technique of the ivory is just exquisite. This silvered and patinated bronze and hand carved ivory piece sits in a white agate base. Inscribed “Molins” on the base. Marked “France 1er Epreuve” on the bronze. 20” (60 cm) Long x 21 ½” (55 cm) High.
